June ASQ Salt Lake Member Workshop
Data Quality Workshop with Mark Martin
Join us in June!
To make informed data-driven decisions, you need appropriate analysis of good data. Unfortunately, sometimes 90% of the allotted time is spent data-wrangling (organizing, formatting, and cleaning or investigating the data), leaving only 10% of available time for analysis. This workshop-style presentation will help you learn principles of organizing data so that it is ready for statistical software, enabling more efficient and informative analysis.
As an exercise, we will use a real dataset of automobile mileage and fuel consumption for a few vehicles. We will search for inconsistencies, review formats, and apply the 8 Dimensions of Data Quality to make the dataset analysis-ready. You will learn a step-by-step process for preparing a dataset that is checked for quality, documented, and ready to be read into statistical software. Whether you supply data for someone else to analyze, collect and analyze your own data, or analyze data that comes from other sources, this workshop will teach you principles to work efficiently with data.
Registration will open in May.
